Join the buskers, clowns, musicians, wandering minstrels, magic shows and the vibrant street stalls, that will fill a ‘car free’ Bate Street from end to end, ensuring a day of fun and entert ainment. The popular Reptile Awarenes s show returns along with kids fun rides, a local art show and plenty of street games providing an insight into the fun of yesteryear, when skill and team work kept everyone amused. Bushies boot throw, the egg toss and the cheese roll are open to all comers and are always a great laugh. Local blacksmiths provide an insight into their craft with demonstrations. Machine enthusiasts can obser ve historic stationary engines in action and the Cancer Research Advocate Bikers (CRABS) will bring their roaring Harleys. Live music fills four stages and includes local singer songwriter Brigid Murane, the tunes of the Jazz Pack, Damon Davies, the DJ Gosper Duo, Tommy M and the Master Sounds - a nine piece funk band, the Chris Harland Blues Band. Entry for the day is a $10 donation and visitors are reminded that CentralTilba does not have any ATM facilities. Ample parking is available with a free shuttle bus running from the car park to the entry gates. Narooma Oyster Festival at the heart of Australia’s Oyster Coast, celebrates South Coast NSW oysters and their growers along with the region’s natural clean quality produce, chefs, and rich artistic and cultural talents during the weekend April 5 – 6. Saturday is the Festival’s ‘Naturally Gourmet Fair’ where you can enjoy a day of food and fun beside Narooma’s stunning Wagonga Inlet. The Fair showcases the regions exceptional seafood, wine, dairy and organic produce. Headlining this year’s festival are cooking demonstrations by chefs from NSW South great flavours at oyster festival Coast’s ‘hatted’ restaurants – Huw Jones of Zanzibar Merimbula, JoshTyler ofTyler’s Pantry Mogo and David Campbell of Wharf Rd Nowra. New this year is Australia’s Oyster Coast oyster bar precinct featur ing oysters from many south coast oyster growing estuaries. Discover Australia’s Oyster Coast “Oyster Trail’ – a ‘farm gate’ food trail that will be launched at the Festival. Their growers feature in the sensational ‘Faces of Australia’s Oyster Coast – a phot ographic exhibition by Heide Smith’. The Naturally Gourmet Fair also features the hotly contested oyster opening competition, the region’s best gourmet food and craft stalls, and great live music all day. The region’s arts and culture, including its indigenous heritage, are on display as well as oyster opening classes, a free kid’s zone, a fishing exhibition and much more. On Saturday evening oyster related dinners and entertainment are planned around the town. Sunday is the Festival’s ‘Narooma on Show’ day where visitors are encouraged to sample what the area has to offer, from Bodalla to Montague Island toTilba, and to appreciate why this is such a special place to visit, ‘how life should be’.
