www.southcoastleisuretimes.com.au South Coast 33 Milton and surrounds As the months grow cooler, there’s still plenty to warm you up at Cupitt’s Winery. Tour and taste beer, wine and cheese at Cupitt’s Winter at Cupitt’s is all about enjoying a beer or wine with a cheese platter by the open fire, tasting newly released wines in the cellar door or enjoying a long and lazy lunch overlooking the vineyard. The sunsets may be a little earlier during the cooler months but they are just as amazing and you have prime position at Cupitt’s with the sun slipping over the horizon behind the Budawang Ranges. Winner of two NSW Tourism Awards last year for the restaurant, winery and brewery, guests are able to taste so much produce that is grown and produced on site by the five Cupitt family members and their staff. They encourage visitors to join them on a behind- the-scenes tour of the property to truly get a feel for what they are producing. During a visit to the barrel room hidden under the hillside you can taste their award-winning wines and learn about all about the varieties grown on site and the various stages of winemaking. At the extensive kitchen garden see what is being grown for inclusion in the seasonally-lead restaurant menu. In the micro-brewery chat with the head brewer about what is under way and taste a brew during your visit. Next, it’s all about the cheese making process and what the Cupitt Fromagerie produces weekly to supply the restaurant with a delicious range of cow and goat cheese. Each tour is approximately one hour long and run Wednesday through to Sunday at 11am for $30 per person with bookings essential.
