www.southcoastleisuretimes.com.au South Coast 53 Mogo/Moruya Eurobodalla River of Art is a 10 day festival of live music, theatre, film, visual arts, literature, creative workshops and cultural experiences held along the picturesque far south coast. This area, known as the Eurobodalla Shire, extends between Durras Lake in the north and Wallaga Lake in the south. River of Art, to be held from May 19-28, celebrates the abundance of creative practitioners living in and complementing the beautiful environment of the Eurobodalla. The festival program is generated from the community and all events and activities are run by volunteers in collaboration with local businesses and the Eurobodalla Shire Council. Residents and visitors will be able to experience live music, theatre, film, visual arts and literature from one end of the shire to the other. Just 10 minutes’ drive south of Batemans Bay, Mogo is one of the most popular destinations on the coast where shoppers can enjoy the great variety of cafes, galleries, antiques, fashion, arts, crafts, hobbies, homewares and lifestyle product shops. Most of these are run by the proprietors offering excellent service. Mogo Village is home to some stores which sell sweet treats, like lollies and fudge, so indulge your cravings. Heavenly Connections is a spiritual new age shop in Mogo, which specialises in all areas of mind, body and spirit stocking crystals, gemstones and minerals and stones for healing, meditation and spiritual enlightenment. For a blast from the past, the Original Gold Rush Colony in Mogo is a multi award-winning tourism attraction, gold history and Australian culture educational facility, with on-site accommodation set on 13 bushland acres within the Mogo State Forest. Animal lovers will enjoy the fun at Mogo Zoo. It’s is a privately owned zoo situated 10km south of Batemans Bay in the picturesque village of Mogo. It is home to over 200 animals of more than 42 rare and exotic species, including the white lions of Timbavati. Mogo Zoo also has the largest collection of primates in any private zoo in Australia. Enjoy keeper talks and feeding sessions. The zoo is open 9am until 5pm seven days a week (except Christmas Day) and a minimum two hours is recommended to tour the premises. River of Art is a 10 day festival of creativity held along the far south coast in May.
