The Gondwana Coast Fossil Walk at Ulladulla, voted “Best Tourist Attraction” at the 2016 South Coast Regional Tourism Awards, is a guided fossil walk suitable for people aged five to 85. Participants can enjoy the thrill of finding world-class 270 million-year-old fossils. The fossil walk experience has been expanded to include two new attractions - the Brodie Park Geological Time Walk and Fossil House Museum. The self-guided 500 million year Time Walk through the landscaped gardens in Brodie Park uses 38 boulders and signage to tell the story of the geological history of the South Coast, while Fossil House Museum has an amazing display of fossils. Both the Time Walk and museum are free and the guided Fossil Walk costs $10 for adults, $5 for school-aged children and $25 for families. Walking reveals wonders One of the best ways to explore the area is on foot. The Ulladulla district offers a wide selection of fantastic waterways, trails and bush areas to explore and enjoy for the amateur and more experienced hikers. One Track For All, Northern Headland, Ulladulla contains two loops, each roughly one kilometre in length and features carvings telling the history of Aboriginals in the area. The track head is at the end of Dolphin Street on the northern side of the harbour and east of the Princes Highway. Coomee Nulunga Cultural Trail, Deering Street, Ulladulla is a fascinating outing for all the family with painted dream posts and carvings. South Pacific Heathland Reserve, Dowling Street, Ulladulla is one of the most scenic. The track starts on the right hand side of Dowling Street, 300 metres from the highway. The easy two-kilometre walk is on a gently undulating track. Ulladulla Wildflower Reserve, Warden Street, Ulladulla More than 100 varieties of plants and trees, including blackbutt, messmate, bloodwood, turpentine, waratahs, ferns, creepers, shrubs, ground and tree orchids can be seen. Little Forest Plateau For those who are more serious hikers, Little Forest Plateau is part of Morton National Park to the west of Milton. It offers a variety of easy to medium, well signposted walks with arguably the best views anywhere in Australia. Explore with the best The Gondwana Coast Fossil Walk is a trip back through history.
