South Coast Leisure Times : Summer 2016-2017
www.southcoastleisuretimes.com.au South Coast 51 Ulladulla Ulladulla Harbour is a picturesque place to wander, eat a meal and watch the boats. A harbourside haven Ulladulla not only boasts a picturesque harbour, but a fantastic selection of shopping choices from boutiques to department stores and interesting arcades and centres. The Pavilion Shopping Centre houses specialty stores, cafes and restaurants. A must see is Sachi Boutiques and Gifts, a gorgeous shop that stocks all the latest summer fashion brands and accessories. Don’t miss the Ulladulla Wharf Market on the second Sunday of each month. It’s a great way to spend a morning. Just nearby on the highway in Rowen Arcade, Funland is an exciting experience for the young and young at heart. It’s three floors of interactive rides and games. There’s pinball, soft play, driving games, laser skirmish and mini putt golf. The best thing is entry is free and games start from 55 cents. Ulladulla Collective opened earlier this year and is a community retail space set up to support and grow local businesses. Located opposite the Ex-Servicemen’s club in Ulladulla there are over 30 shops, all under one roof. There is a huge range of goods including art, sculptures, handmade, vintage, retro, homewares, childrenswear, jewellery, mats and rugs, accessories, fashion, furniture, candles, fair trade goods, plants and much more. On Saturdays you can sometimes meet one of the makers and watch them demonstrate their craft or get a free valuation by one of the resident antique gurus. Rielle, a recognised Tarot and Chakra reader also visits once a month. The collective is open 10am to 4pm Wednesday to Monday and seven days a week throughout January. Meanwhile the Millhouse Art Exhibition and Sale is very much part of the summer holidays in Ulladulla and will be held downstairs in the Civic Centre opposite the harbour. All are welcome to attend the Millhouse Society Summer Art Exhibition at 1pm on Wednesday, December 28. It will be open daily from 9.30am to 4pm until Sunday, January 8. Works will cover a wide selection of subjects, from landscapes to contemporary pieces. Admission is free. Popular artist Elizabeth Ann Walker has donated a painting for the raffle called Spring Blooms. Proceeds will go to a local charity. See www.millhouseartsociety.com.
