Photo: Robert Pearce. Bundanon was Arthur and Yvonne Boyd’s gift to Australia, which has given it a unique cultural and environmental asset. It was borne out of Boyd’s often stated belief that “you can’t own a landscape” and his desire others might also draw inspiration from this remarkable place. It is an inspiring haven for artists-in-residence and houses almost 4000 contemporary artworks. Bundanon has a number of events and activities running over the summer months, to which the public is welcome. Shoalhaven Riverwatch will present the American true folk troubadour, Steve Poltz. He will be making his second trip to Australia this year after crossing the country last summer including stops at the famous Spiegeltent and festival appearances at Nannup, Port Fairy, Blue Mountains, the National Folk Festival. He will perform at Boyd Education Centre, Riversdale on the evening of Sunday, December 18. Bundanon’s Big Draw is back for 2017 on Sunday, January 8 from 10.30am until 4pm. It’s a chance to experience the cool of the rainforest in the heat of summer. Take pencils, pens and watercolours on an outing to Bundanon. Guided by artist-educators, participants can soak up the beauty of South Coast rainforest. A series of guided walks with workshops to different locations for drawing will be held throughout the day. Big Draw is an international movement for encouraging people to pick up their pens and pencils and draw. ARIA nominated artists Blue King Brown are an urban roots and reggae powerhouse. Their cross generational groove and socially conscious sound are led by the multi talented, relentless energy of Nattali Rize. Blue King Brown will perform at the Boyd Education Centre, Riversdale on the afternoon of Saturday, January 14, supported by independent artist Sahara Beck.
