South Coast Leisure Times : Summer 2016-2017
www.southcoastleisuretimes.com.au South Coast 3 Welcome to the South Coast Summer on the South Coast means many different things. Bare feet by the water. A bush hike. Water sports. Lazy evening barbecues. Lively festivals. And much more too. The South Coast has it all, from pristine beaches to stunning state parks. We’re excited to showcase the regional towns along the coast, giving you the information you need to make your stay here as exciting as you want it to be. The beaches along the coast are among the most popular, not to mention free to enjoy, attractions during summer months. Many of the busier spots are patrolled by surf lifesavers and are safe and fun for families. Water sports too are popular, and there are plenty of spots along the coast to get your fix of surfing, paddleboarding, windsurfing or jetskiing. Back on land there is plenty to keep you occupied, with a number of national and state parks, walking and cycling tracks and places to camp. If indoors is more your thing, the coast is home to a plethora of arts and crafts shops, often featuring the work of local artists. Who knows maybe you’ll pick up a masterpiece? Otherwise the boutique shops, department stores and cafes and restaurants are varied enough to suit all tastes. There are also live stage shows, cinemas, museums and exhibitions all up and down the coast. Summer also brings with it a run of country shows, which highlight and celebrate the towns’ agricultural roots, so check and see if there’s one happening near you. It’s also festival and carnival season, which means it’s a great time to enjoy live music or sports with mates or let the family loose on rides. Whatever your interest, the South Coast summer has something to offer. We hope you enjoy your holiday and festive season here. map & what’s on arts, performance and entertainment along the coast 4 berry celebration new year’s eve in the boutique town 21 entertain me nowra’s entertainment centre launches 2017 season 26 show with a smile the friendly show back in kangaroo valley 24 what’s on in wollongong culture, shows and exhibitions aplenty 11 fishing mecca st georges basin best for boating 36 walking tracks and trails ulladulla’s best found on foot 56 +63 accommodation and classifieds Joylands Huskisson Carnival is open December 26 to January 26 each evening at Huskisson Sporting Fields on Tomerong Street.
