Set among rolling green hills, with the Cambewarra Mountain range as backdrop, Berry is known for its cafes, antiques and boutique shopping. Berry Shoes & Accessories is known for its extensive range of Crocs as well as a variety of brand names like Birkenstock and Taos. Cuckoo Corner is a treasure trove for those looking for an unusual souvenir or gift. The quaint store has a selection of cuckoo, grandfather and novelty clocks, watches, pocket watches, weather stations, music boxes, tin toys, beer steins, nutcrackers, compasses, Russian and Kokeshi dolls, Venetian masks, cow bells, kaleidoscopes and more. The Berry Community Craft Cottage is open daily and is manned by volunteers whose arts and crafts fill the shop. The store is home to a range of hand and homemade delights like jams, pickles, pottery, babywear, toys, cards, jewellery and more. After a long day’s shopping there are plenty of cafes and restaurant’s in the town to stop and enjoy a bite to eat. Savannah Cafe features South African cuisine, including dishes from the Malay quarter to the township of Soweto in Johannesburg. A few Mediterranean flavours have been thrown in the mix as well. Turkish chef Ersen is renowned for his cheese making skills and his speciality dish - ribs. Situated in the Stan Burt Arcade, the cafe also stocks a range of African craft work, which is all ethically sourced and fair trade.
