14 South Coast www.southcoastleisuretimes.com.au Jamberoo Water park welcomes Easter Bunny Dairy village NSW’s favourite water theme park, Jamberoo Action Park, is a great place to visit during the Easter holidays. It is located an hour south of Sydney, 20 minutes south of Wollongong and 10 minutes from Kiama on 40 hectares of landscaped gardens and parklands. It’s the perfect place to kick back and relax or join family and friends on a big range of water rides, slides and attractions. The Easter Bunny will host a giant Easter egg hunt at Jamberoo Action Park on Sunday, March 27. Children aged between four and 12 can join the Easter Bunny and Sammy the Shark at Jamberoo to hunt for thousands of Easter eggs hidden throughout the picnic grounds. Tickets will be on sale from 9am or book online. Gates open at 9.30am sharp for children and their families. Children will receive a Jamberoo Bag to collect eggs and the hunt will wind up at 10am, when gates will open to the general public. Jamberoo Action Park also holds a Guiness World Record for the largest spider sculpture ever built, attached to one of the biggest, longest and most exhiliating water thrill rides, the Funnel Web. The spider sits attached to the side of the ride and above new cascading rock waterfalls, just under 20m high. The Rock, a 5m and 4m jump, together with a speed slide into a 5m deep pool has been refurbished for this season. Extensive rock works and landscaping improvements have occurred to provide an enhanced experience for guests when they are jumping or using this area. The Mushroom Pools and Kiddies Triple slides have also been refurbished incorporating over 120m of new cascading waterfall features surrounding this aqua play area for the littlies. The park is open weekends from 10am until 5pm, Monday, March 14 and 28 and Friday 25 as well as Saturday, April 2 through until Monday, April 25, when the season closes. Book online for activities and hurry before the season closes. The small, picturesque village of Jamberoo lies around 11km inland from Kiama on the South Coast. The name of the town is taken from an Aboriginal word which means “track”. Jamberoo is known for a few of its outstanding attractions, including the Jamberoo Action Park, the Jamberoo Hotel , its local farming community and the nearby Minnamurra Rainforest. Jamberoo is actually the origin of the Australian Illawarra Shorthorn breed of cattle. Fun on the waterslides at Jamberoo Action Park. The Jamberoo Hotel.
