The restaurant has stunning views as it is situated on the waterfront. High teas at the Lagoon Restau rant in Wollongong a re growing in popularity. An event geared towards families is called High Tea For Mums and Bubs, Dads and Tots. It is held monthly on a Monday from 9.30am until 11.30am. As well as high tea delights for adults and children, there are children’s activities on offer aimed at ages zero to five. Parents can enjoy time out relaxing, while their children play safely. The night market ret ur ned to Lagoon Restaurant in February and is held four times a year. The next night market will be held Monday, May 2 from 5.30 to 8.30pm. The Moonlight/Reflections room is tra nsformed into a marketplace with a variety of local handmade products and imported goods. Shoppers ca n browse the stalls while sipping on a cocktail from the Deck Bar. There’s also food available and live entertainment. The Lagoon Experimental Kitchen - From Farm to Fork will be held on Friday, June 3 at 7pm. From Farm to Fork is a collaboration between A ndrews Meats a nd Lagoon Restaurant. It will be a cha nce to get up close a nd persona l with where your food comes from. It will be held from April 1-3 on Lawrence Hargrave Drive in Thirroul. The art events lead the way with an art exhibition, photography seaside exhibition and a Sculpture by the Sea competition. The Thirroul township comes alive with street entertainment, music, dance, market stalls and carnival rides. The festival is run in conjunction with Austinmer Thirroul Lions Club - supporting the needs of the community. The formal opening of the Thirroul Seaside and Arts Festival is the art exhibition on the Friday evening at the Thirroul Community and Library Centre. The exhibitions are open for the whole weekend, with gold coi n entry. On the Saturday, the Thirroul township comes alive with street entertainment, music, dance, a talent quest, art exhibitions and competitions i ncludi ng a sculpture exhibition at the library, kids’ activities, carnival rides and market stalls. Local traders provide g reat food and boutique shopping for all to enjoy. In the evening enjoy music and dance at numerous township venues. Finally on Sunday, in magnificent seaside park, there is a full day of entertainment, starting with the Thirroul Surf Club beachside breakfast, Junior Surf Competition, art and sculpture displays, competitions, exhibitions, great food, market stalls, rides, animals, children’s activities, and other displays. Winners of the art exhibition and art prize will be announced also. There is public transport available with a free shuttle service moving between attractions on Saturday and Sunday. There is also a train station at Thirroul w ith elevators. Night market returns The city of Wollongong, on the shores of the South Pacific Ocean, is one of the coast’s most exciting and popular day trip and shor t break destinations.
