Over three days, June 6-8, visitors will be treated to a program featuring fine wine and fabulous food. Cellar doors will host various events from wine and Unicorn cheese tastings, dinners, vineyard tours, winery talks, themed lunches, produce and market stalls, topping it off with live music in the vineyards. Just purchase of a festival glass for $10 at the first winery you visit and enjoy wine and cheese tastings at participating wineries from Gerringong in the North to Bawley Point in the South and West to Kangaroo Valley. Starting with a street parade through Berry at 9.30am, 10 pipe bands will combine with all of the Clans, ScottishTerrier dogs and vintage cars and proceed to the Showground for the official opening.The Berry Showground is on the south eastern side of the highway and is easily found. A non-stop program will follow! Pipe bands will perform interspersed with Highland singing and dancing.A highlight of the day will be the Highland Warrior s , with their feats of strength to see who can lift all of the huge ‘stones of manhood’ the fastest and then later on, ‘tossing the caber’. As many Clans will be in at tendance, for anyone wishing to get information regarding their ancestral Celtic background, then this is the place to do it.You can also enjoy browsing the many market stalls selling Celtic merchandise, food, coffee and other goodies. The Berry Celtic Festival is unique to the South Coast but fits in well with the history of the area, as many Irish, Scottish, Welsh and Cornish were early settlers.
